If you have not heard of Clark Ashton Smith before and then you read his work you may be left wondering why you did not know of him sooner, as many others have. This seems to be the way it is with this author for many people and it is as mysterious as his work is. If you are the sort of mind that readily visualises what you read then you are in for an unforgettable journey.

There are a lot of layers to this work of art, and much meaning woven into the dialogue. Some very clear warnings and lessons can be learned from it and not just about science vs faith, but more so about freedom of thought and state coercion, about political power and dogma, how doctrine is threatened by open minds regardless of if they are looking at science or philosophy and spirituality.
