AMAZING BOOK!!! Reminds me of Onore de Balzak somehow. I just loved the plot, the idea.. A young man idolises the world and has certain idols and principals, but then after being intoduced to the french aristocrat society starts to better understand life, finally he gets that no one is sincere and if you want to have wealth and glory, you have to play a role, he becomes a person that he really is not, a person that was formed by this cruel world, full of lies. The novel really captures the spirit, it shows us the depth of a human soul, so many characters seem familiar, so many of them have we seen in our lives, unfortunately. Book really makes you question your life choices, at the same time showing us that sometimes situations force us to do certain things, sometimes we have no choice, or do we? At the end of the novel you think if the main hero is really that bad after shooting his lover and if it is his fault or society's The book is not that long and I finished it in literally two days, it was simply imposible to stop reading this masterpice at least for a moment. Highly recommend to anyone who hasn't read it yet)
