Underwhelming and seems to be forced somewhat. I wanted to really connect with the characters but I never felt I knew them. Im glad they connected with each other! (That was a bright spot). Some of their actions (and actions of others in the film) did more of a disservice to the black community. It lacked validity and grit! It was kind of all over the place? Some moving moments and great soundtrack but really quite a disappointment. Too bad :(

Felt like a "b" movie, and that's not a way to approach a potentially great premise. Very dissatisfied. Ugh!
