It will be a very sad day if the younger generation stop- reading authors like James Michener. I got lost in Spain once and navigated our way back to Malaga by Michener’s description in The Drifters. This book was a mile stone for my generation, much like Lord of the Rings. While Michener may be described as a fictional author, there is significant fact buried in his novels. I have grown up on Michener novels, and lived many years in the South Pacific.
