Bad. Very bad. I'm massive fan of the games which provides great characters and stories. Sully is like a father figure to Nate having met when Nate was a teen boy. That relationship dynamic is destroyed in this film by writers that clearly paid zero attention to the games beyond pirate ships and explosives go boom.
Sully, a rich and vibrant character full of heart and humor, is the real disappointment of the film, and that's not the fault of Mark Wahlberg. It is the fault of the writers that wrote all the characters as if a hollow means to an end.
