Yves Meubus

Series 1 reminds me so much of the excitement of the brilliant writing of the Good Wife. Excellent acting and superb script with few forgivable lapses. I'm not a big fan of Jennifer Aniston but she does her best work here. Reese Witherspoon on the other hand is as brilliant as ever. Season 1 was excellent which is amazing considering each episode was written by a different writer. Probably one of the top five best series I've ever seen. Americans do this kind of television work to perfection. Season 2 does not have the same intensity or realistic flow. Almost feels like they have run out of credible ideas.

Fun, a bit silly and not always credible but it is a sort of comedy based on a Belgian series that doesn't work as well in North America. Overall felt a bit long for such a narrow theme but if the humour titalates you, you will stay to the bitter sweet end.

Acting and story pretty thin and predictable. Still an easy ride for light entertainment.

Way too long for this limited theme of silent cinema going to talking pictures. I almost gave up in the first half hour. Chaos in scenes and story is off the charts. Nothing wrong with nudity, but please don't base a story on that alone. However if you are brave it gets better in the second half. Brad Pitt was not very focussed in this mess. The acting in general was very average.

Very well written, very well acted, great filming but most of all a movie that questions the depth of family love and loyalty against the ugly realities of life.

I liked it a lot even if it was not always cohesive or clear sometimes due to an overbearing sound track that muffled out dialogue. John Goodman was a highlight, I forgot how good an actor he has always been. Atmosphere in general was very good without a lot of fluff.

Mostly good typical British type soap opera material, but the last episode of season one has an absolutely horrible immoral ending with no emotional consequences.
