I watched the movie reminding myself that it was a 1970's creation and not really a modern production. The problem that I found was that it tried to mix a historical account of events in WW2 with character discovery of individual soldiers. IT was very easy to get lost in the historical portion of the movie unless you already had a background of the events. The movie jumped around quite a bit and I lost what really happened in the battles around the bridges and troop movements. It would have been better as just a war story with all the big name actors as characters or as a documentary of the war operation. I also had trouble with the British portion of the "English" language and there were no sub titles available.
