A delightful listen. Creative orcestrations that sound a lot like something VanDyke Parks would do. Yet the notes only credit him with piano and vocals.

A 1979 album. They started out as a creative acappella group melding Bach and jazz. Here they' ve devolved into a middle of the road vocal interpretor of jazx standards. There is a band that fades into the background. Vocal arrangements range from boring to cloying. Its not easy to make songs like Mood Indigo, Chattanooga Choo Choo and Neil Hefti's L'il Darliin' sound lifeless.

Uninspiring renditions of songs that really get their reputations due to their lyrics. A few quotes from other tunes (eg. Beginning To See The Light) are about the only thing that adds interest. Too bad considering the credentials of musicoans lik Ben Tucker and Paul Horn

Beautiful. Machado's percussion adds so much. Bertoncini plays a beautifully miked classical guitar. And don,' t miss Moore's melodious bass solo in Corcovado.
