"Devara: Part 1" Review: Good Acting, Action, BGM, and Visuals make it a good watch for action lovers, but the predictable 2nd half feels stale. Sequel was unnecessary. Spoiler-Free Long Review: Devara is a 2024 period action drama saved mostly by Anirudh bgm and Jr. NTR's acting. Though Koratala Siva's direction isn't bad, it doesn't justify the hype. Visuals and editing were beautiful. Action sequences were also well executed. The first half moves smoothly without lag. In the 2nd half however it starts to lag in the first few scenes especially those involving Janhvi Kapoor. Her role could've been better written. Then it picks up pace near the pre climax scene and ends well (almost). I had a decent time watching this thanks to Jr. NTR's stellar screen presence, Anirudh's BGM, and the visuals, but a sequel was unnecessary I felt. This might not impress you if you want something epic compared to the hype this movie had during pre-release.
