The Flash: Review
As a fan of The Flash since around 15 years old ( being 33 now ), I've looked forward to the day when someone somewhere would green light a Flash movie that I would be able to see. I've been a fan of as much DC "The Flash" related content that I have been intellectually able to keep up with, as many things share my time and motivation, and some interests aren't as developed as others.
However, The Flash is a beautiful introduction to the character and at least an excellent introduction to a new part of Barry's gallery. Barry Allen's powers have always been a point of contention within the conversation of speedsters. Finally, we've reached the end of a trend where we don't need to use a character's origin as an introduction.
The visual effects of the movie are something to discuss. While the trailers precluded the film did promise a stellar cinematic adventure, we received a mixed bag of emotions. The visuals were clear and concise within very intricate portions of movies, yet many characters visually needed more textural depth.
The animators who did the characters for Injustice & Injustice 2 would have been an asset for keeping their depth of character clear through hypermobility.
If anything, The Flash (2024) feels like fanfiction in the best way possible. It's campy, over the top, and emotionally moving in ways you wouldn't expect (even for The Flash). As a movie about Superheroes, it's one of the best within the last 20 years. Not within my top 10, and I don't think even the visuals would have fixed that.

It's like paying for a small fry but getting a medium fry & free drink!
