I wouldn’t typically review books on Google because I don’t think I have much to say about books that I have finished that haven’t been said already.
I went into this book pretty blind. (Meaning I literally read one sentence of the summary & saw it was a top read for 2023).
I’ve really struggled reading books lately because like any other 26 yr old, I’m addicted to TikTok. I spent countless hours reading this book because it was such an effortless read that I wanted to keep going. Unfortunately all good things must come to an end & I’m sad that I’m here.
Gabrielle does a great job dividing the gaming world and “real world” for her characters. I truly felt like an experienced gamer at the end. I could feel the love Sam, Sadie and Marx had for each other. At times, I was blindsided because the ending was not what I imagined. The last ~150 pages ruined me but I knew I loved the book because it was palpable. I borrowed this book from the library to avoid spending more money on books, but joke is on me because I need this book as a personal copy.
I won’t go into what the plot was because it was such a pleasant surprise through all 397 pages.
