Oh, I thought this would be at least a decent movie. But gosh… it was hard to watch. I think the relationship between Waverly and her parents felt unexplained…. Honestly Waverly’s immediate insertion into the town just felt unnatural. I felt compelled to watch bc I appreciate films that put Asian casts together but this one just missed the mark. Of course it was some hunky white dude that was the love interest. Of course he had some troubling past and couldn’t decide if he could handle a relationship. Saw this on the plane and would not watch again. There was more potential for the plot but the acting felf stiff… really stiff

I wouldn’t typically review books on Google because I don’t think I have much to say about books that I have finished that haven’t been said already. I went into this book pretty blind. (Meaning I literally read one sentence of the summary & saw it was a top read for 2023). I’ve really struggled reading books lately because like any other 26 yr old, I’m addicted to TikTok. I spent countless hours reading this book because it was such an effortless read that I wanted to keep going. Unfortunately all good things must come to an end & I’m sad that I’m here. Gabrielle does a great job dividing the gaming world and “real world” for her characters. I truly felt like an experienced gamer at the end. I could feel the love Sam, Sadie and Marx had for each other. At times, I was blindsided because the ending was not what I imagined. The last ~150 pages ruined me but I knew I loved the book because it was palpable. I borrowed this book from the library to avoid spending more money on books, but joke is on me because I need this book as a personal copy. I won’t go into what the plot was because it was such a pleasant surprise through all 397 pages.

No One Will Save You

Ok — I LOVE PAUL MESCAL. But here are some thoughts I have: - had little knowledge of film & only that it was between Father & Daughter - The “flash” dance scenes made little to no sense until the end - Thought the chemistry between the characters seemed very organic and realistic - Although Paul mescal definitely seems too young to be a father which could be unbelievable - After digesting you realize the father had some dark issues and obviously killed himself and now his daughter (fast toward 20 something yrs) is somewhat plagued by the rememberance - “Sophie’s” moments resonated with me because it reflected a sudden interest in wanting to be “grown up”. - Did it hint that Sophie would become a lesbian? Not sure - Overall I give this move a 7/10
