I read the book and really enjoyed it. Then I watched the show and thought it was a pile of rubbish in comparison! The characters lacked any kind of real depth and the whole idea was just ridiculous. I expected so much given some of the big names who star in it. I understand why the plot was changed, to stick to the book may have been rather boring on screen, but so many haracters were changed;job, back story, relationships with other characters. I felt if they had somewhat followed the book more they could have had a much better show.
