This poignant story eloquently portrays the human cost of war. Though it is set during the Lebanese Civil War that started in 1975 and lasted 15 years, the lessons are relevant to the conflicts happening around the world today. As Teta says, “This world keeps getting better. I wish people would enjoy it and focus on making more miracles and stop senseless war. If only people realized miracles are the enlightened future and wars are the primitive past.” Books like Glass Cedars give us the best chance and learning how not to repeat the destructive violence of the past, so future generations have the chance to prosper in peace. Highly recommend this read.
