TL/DR: Game was really fun IMO. It plays like a Lara Croft (story/mission) Fallout/Skyrim (open world).
Typically, I don’t leave reviews, but I felt like I needed to due to all the negativity going around the internet about it. I am very glad bought it, because it turned out to be a blast and not anywhere as terrible as people were making it out to be.
As a Star Wars fan, I felt like it had some of the best open world experiences I’ve ever had in a Star Wars game. Jedi Survivor was an amazing game as far as mechanics, but I feel like Outlaws had a much better exploring, side stories, and smaller experiences. Felt more like a Fallout and Skyrim open world with a few twists.
Mechanics wise is where I feel like most of the negativity comes from. It is not like your typical Star Wars run blaze and glory game. Nor is it like a fun run around stealthy Assassins Creed. So expectations should be set. That being said, it can be a bit clunky at times. In my opinion, Outlaws plays like a mild Lara Croft game for missions/story with a Fallout/Skyrim open world(s).
Graphics were amazing. I’ve played a bunch of Star Wars games and I feel like this one had the best attention to detail around the world. Characters/npcs could’ve used a bit work, but not to where it was super annoying. I play the game on pc and didn’t have any issues. Was able to complete the entire story in 25hrs without a single crash or glitch.
Would I recommend it to someone else? Absolutely. Star Wars fans who enjoy Star Wars games just for Star Wars will love it for sure. If your picky on mechanics and don’t like a slower paced game? Maybe it’s not for you. But this game is great and don’t deserve hate.
