Currently almost done rereading Salems lot because of this movie’s premiere and I was really disappointed watching this movie. If you’re hoping for a somewhat good retelling of the book, this movie isn’t it. It’s abbreviated for sure, leaving out complete plot lines and characters that helped to build not only suspense but the overall story; the 1979 movie does a much better job following the book. This movie basically is just another vampire movie but with Stephen King characters/settings as something to get you interested. I was never really attached to any of the characters and the ending wasn’t too suspenseful or thrilling. Honestly it was just meh but even as just another vampire movie, some moments were alright but it’s definitely not that scary.

Started off strong, but the twist just had no end in sight. All over the place and lost all scare factor by the halfway point. Don’t really recommend.
