Why is Thor just some joke on the screen now? He had no substance in this film. I dont think I'll be in a hurry to see the next Marvel movie if this is what they will be like now. Our theater was unamused, zero laughter and no excitement when the lights turned on. This movie was trying too hard to be cool. I could see the jokes they threw in from a mile away before they happened and it happened way too much. The few things that were funny were overcrowded by the desperate attempts at humor. On another note, it was hard to have any sort of emotional connection to the characters. I was very excited to see Christian Bales character but it felt like he hardly did anything, they missed a huge opportunity with his character to use his emotion and make him do some really neat bad guy things but I had a hard time understanding some of his motivations toward the end of the movie. I hope Marvel stops making these empty filler movies.

GO SEE THIS FILM! So I am not a big fan of the old Top Gun film by all means, I had no expectations for Maverick whatsoever, it was playing and we had seen enough of the previews for years and years, so we went. Best decision! We were not disappointed! What a refreshing movie, the action, the acting, the characters and the plot had us wanting more and more. A bonus was that there was nothing in this film that felt like the political indoctrinating stuff that hollywood thinks America wants to see right now. We plan to go to and see this again before it leaves the theaters! Thank you to those who made this film, this is what America wants to see!
