Pros:
There are some good takeaways from this book like
- Leaders job is to not to just command & order but to ensure that all the people under him are equipped to succeed and for that if he has to ask for help, he should
- Leading with trust and integrity is a must, nobody expects leaders to be right all the time, but they expect them to own up to their mistakes
- A good leader is always in touch with his people, it helps to reduce the abstractness and creates a human connection between leaders and employees, increasing loyalty
Cons:
- The book looks completed against capitalism and there were a lot of theories which just looked good just for a utopian world and practically impossible to sustain for any company in real world
- A big drawback of the book is the author keeps on saying negative things about literally every successful company calling out its leaders and management apart from just 1 or 2 of the same companies, which appear to be doing everything right, so the book looks biased on that front.
Overall, I would say give it a go, there may be some parts of the book you might not agree with, but then what’s the point of reading a book, if you agree and know 100% of the stuff a writer writes!!
