Although I love seeing the original cast back in season 3, the writing and general “overacting” on this show continues to be a major disappointment. The latest episode of season 3 has Picard and Riker in “totally implausible” conflict with the now consistently cheesy overly dramatic acting. Perhaps one of the worst written parts is Raffi, who never ceases to be in a state of “hyper-angst” through every situation she experiences. These are all good actors whose credibility has been ruined with deplorable writing. And stealing plots from the best Star Trek movie ever (Wrath of Khan) won’t save this series. The original Next Generation series was often campy, but the writing and acting is far superior to Picard, overall. Hard to believe they could do such a poor job in resurrecting a classic like Next Generation . . .
