My wife and I saw Alita: Battle Angel in IMAX 3D on Valentine's Day. It more than lived up to expectations. I've been a huge fan of the manga for years, and this movie was faithful to the spirit as well as many of the particulars of the manga. If there's a sequel - there SHOULD be a sequel! - we will definitely go see it as well. Simply put, this movie delivers.

Incredible performance by Daniel Day Lewis. The entire film is a masterwork, and is worthy of repeated viewings.

Well done special effects can't compensate for a plot that otherwise is unconvincing in major ways. The climax has Moscow literally underwater before the magical events reverse the effects of all the inundation and almost everybody lives happily ever after - even the dog.
