An extremely enjoyable and interesting film. Some modern feminist attitudes thoughtfully inserted. The acting in the subject film was a little too hammed up IMHO - in reality some very fine actors might have played those parts (Lawrence Olivier, Olivia de Haviland etc). Also, the single use of the "F" word was unnecessary and would have been most unlikely especially to a woman (even "bloody" would have been unacceptable). Finally, at the end of a film in all cinemas in those days (in fact right up to the 1960s), everyone would have stood up for the national anthem!! Notwithstanding this the film was packed full of fine actors and fine acting and left one with a warm, comfortable feeling. Thank you very much.
