This movie is going to become one of those artsy movies for hipsters to squawk about for years to come. They'll talk about it's super unique filming and how the story leaves you wanting more, etc. The only parts that were "scary" were the cheap jump scares that were basically a copy/paste of the style that Insidious relied on for intense and frightening images (a genuinely excellent horror movie). The story left me utterly bored, tired, and above all, irritated. If this is the future of horror, I'll stop being a modern horror movie goer.
The entire film felt like they were scraps and B-roll from an actual good movie. I understand that I'll get the normal "You just don't get it." prompts from everyone who thinks they "get it" but there's really nothing TO get. You're left with theories about what happens and in the end, you don't really care.
This is now the worst movie I've ever seen, even topping Skyline. I'd rate it zero stars if I could as it's the most boring and uninspired piece of cinema ever created. Bravo indie film genre, you've really outdone yourself.
