Great movie about redemption and trust and the lack thereof. I think this was the movie where Tom Cruise proved he really was a great actor, going head to head with the legendary Paul Newman. The movie is slick but retains a gritty feel. Pail Newman as Fast Eddie Felson shows the vulnerability of an aging lion, while Tom Cruise's Vincent character shows a young lion learning to hunt and prowl. The pool playing is outstanding. Paul Newman did most of his shots.
