This film was terrible. As a writer, it lacked any sense of actual story. There was no clear antagonist, no explanation of how the civil war started, no idea how the country was divided, and no real resolution to bring the audience to a single conclusion. Cinematography was thrown around as if that is the only element that makes a good movie. We had no real reason to attach ourselves to the main characters from a humanity standpoint therefore making it difficult to even care about their demise. There was no attachment to reality in any way. There was such promise in this film delivered by the trailers only for the film to waste an hour and 40 mins I’ll never get back. The writer and director were completely short sighted in this attempt at an epic film. They are proof that money and connections are what count and not a genuinely well-written story. I was left with significantly more questions than answers. This film was a hollow shell of entertainment with no real depth or sequence of plot. Just don’t waste your time. The trailers did their job and fooled an entire country, myself included, into eagerly giving it a watch. Biggest let down in cinematic history.
