Magnificent throughout. The ending (Season 5) is moral insight that breaks the heart: tragedy will be the lot of the spy who destroys his enemy by finding out what is good in him. Jean-Marie states thatMaltrou believes the Bureau should "dissolve itself." Its success has resided in discovering what is the remaining good in its adversaries, and having it lead to their destruction. And what is good in Maltrou is his love for a magnificent woman: therefore, she must be murdered. That is Maltrou's payment in kind. How sad.
