The CGI was appalling and looked like soundstage action that was given a painted backdrop afterwards. Very disappointing considering modern capabilities. Joaquin Phoenix’s American accent really jarred. He sounded like a New York cab driver. Much of what he said was muttered and I didn’t catch his lines. There was such a huge cast, many of whom made only fleeting appearances, that it became more of a challenge to work out which well-known faces weren’t in it! The battle scenes were done well, though, apart from the yelling of orders from the command posts, which would never have been heard by those actually doing the fighting.
