First of all- it’s a long movie.
It is set in a more modern setting than the traditional Batman movies. The villains are not in the traditional “costumes” synonymous with Batman. They are more extreme and psycho. Some of the scenes maybe too intense for young kids. My son covered his eyes several times and he’s 11. I have to say my husband and I were disappointed. I’m not saying the acting was bad or the movie was horrible.
We sat through the movie with our two kids ages 11 and 16. My 16 years old watched it without complaining, but my 11 year old was bored ( he knew what was going on in the movie, but didn’t enjoy it) He didn’t like how Batman beat the heck out of the guy after taking a adrenaline shot. He said it wasn’t the Batman he normally watches. As a parent with my own opinion, if you have small kids, this is not the Batman movie for them to watch in my opinion. They may become bored or even shocked at their “hero”.
*There are some stronger curse words, so keep this in mind.
The movie was very dark. There wasn’t even any sun shining in the movie - lol. Of course Batman is dark character. The movie has a lot of dialogue until the end where there is more action. There is disturbing murder scenes with the Joker.
Overall, it’s a good movies for an older audience, but you have to make this choice if you have kids.
I wish I never took my younger son to see this movie and have gone into the next room showing Spider-Man.
This is just my observation and opinion. Common sense media is a good website to go to find out more reviews. I didn’t check first unfortunately.
