Way too much (boring and unrealistic) drama for anyone, much less scientists on their way to Mars. The commander and her family were either crying or upset 95% of the time. And as many have pointed out there wasn't any scientific realism. There were many scenes where someone was standing on 1 leg while the other leg was up, supposedly floating. Too bad, I wanted to like it.
