This is simply one of the Best Zelda Games I've ever played, from the shrines, open world exploration, even every single of the 900 korok seeds.
(This is sort of a review but it DOES have spoilers, So if you want to go into the game 100% blind/not knowing anything, If that's the case don't read because this is a review of most of the game)
I have enjoyed it all and honestly, this is the best one yet, even though this game isn't perfect it doesn't deserve any less than 5 stars, and hopefully Botw 2 will improve in the areas that the first one didn't excel in (still worth 5 stars and the $60).
From the 120 shrines being too much as well as the 900 korok seeds, and how there are only 4 main dungeons (The Divine Beasts), and how the story is small compared to the actual game and all there is to do, and that there's less plot than most of The Legend of Zelda games before it, are some of the things I've seen people upset about in the years since botw came out.
The things that are good about this game is almost everything, The Story may not have been expansive but that's what gives you more options, your own way to do stuff and progress in the game, that's also why the DLC was good, Master Mode providing a Harder difficulty for those wanting a challenge, The Master Trials as a way to Upgrade the Strength and the Durability of The Master Sword, and The Champions Ballad for those wanting more story and stuff to do.
I believe The Core of Botw stems from the Pure Freedom of this game, you could beat the Final Boss right after completing the tutorial if you wanted to, and The Divine Beasts can be completed in any order, with the Shrines and Korok Seeds all being optional (With the Shrines being an exception with the Great Plateau).
The Mechanics in this game are solid too, And the Sheikah Slate will probably be your most used item in the game, and the shrines have a multitude of ways to complete them, from glitches like wind bombing to wall clipping or even just solving it regularly, there's a lot of variety.
Side Quests, oh boy, the side quests in this game can be good, or bad, or boring, maybe even annoying, but they are mostly fun and are a good way to get things other than grinding, like rupees, or materials like food, and the shrine quests are mostly only good if you want more hearts and or stamina and don't want to use the sheikah sensor and go around searching, either that or you want to 100% the game, or you just want all 120 shrines.
Ok, now about the Korok Seeds, if I still haven't convinced you to buy botw then what if I told you that you can increase you weapon storage such as, bows, melee weapons, and bows?, yeah, you can increase the your weapon stash by 19 slots starting at 1 korok seeds doubling the price each time you increase it, and you can increase the bow stash by 13 and the shields by 20, pretty good amount if you ask me.
The Master Sword, As well as the Hylian Shield, also the Bow of Light (not arrows this time) can be obtained, The Master Sword is obtainable by getting 13 hearts or completing a glitch by making a campfire next to the master sword, And is kind of your Main Weapon for the rest of the Game, And can be Upgraded with The Master Trials, The Hylian Shield is obtainable at Hyrule Castle at anytime, And The Bow of Light can only be obtained at the end of the Game and can only be used during the Final Boss.
All in all, despite the bad reviews, Botw is truly an amazing game and it's one of the best games I've ever played with one of the best soundtracks I've ever heard, and it's worth the money, and the 5 star rating.
