Beautifully set and decorated, but absolutely colourless characters, with an extremely slow plot. The cast seem to be wading through the period dialogue without any conviction, except Anna Chancellor, as the complaining guest, who got her teeth into the role. The Durrels it isn’t or Downton Abbey.
