Guys I highly recommend this film to you take your friends, family, associates spouses and everyone . This film is THE BEST film I've seen since the year has started and probably one of the best movies going into a new decade. The acting , costumes , production design , singing , sound mixing is award winning worthy and top tier . This is a feel good movie , you will dance , sing , clap, and even get a bit emotional throughout the film. There are so many standout scenes in the film that makes it so memorable especially those concert scenes where everyone was dancing in the theatre and clapping !!!as well as the studio session scenes where they were showing how the hits were made. MY GOSH Jennifer Hudson gave an OSCAR WORTHY performance as the legendary Aretha Franklin . She totally embodied her from the mannerisms , talk , walk , nuances and voice inflections that it was so scary to watch at times because it was so similar to aretha and you felt like you were actually watching a reincarnation of a young aretha Franklin . Forest whitaker was a force is in this film , marlon surprised me with a different side of his acting with this more dramatic role . Skye who played little aretha was amazing for her age her vocal ability is stunning . Loved those deep dramatic scenes with jennifer and forest as they had a very complex relationship, jennifer saaang down and sounded just like Aretha , so annointed !!! And her acting is top tier especially in those deeply emotional scenes where she is fighting with alcoholism and abuse and her journey to spiritual and emotional rejuvenation with the recording of her best selling amazing grace album which was such an annointed scene in the film . Jennifer brought me to tears 😭😭😭. . I'm looking out for this film to win many awards in the awards season of 2022 and jennifer hudson MUST WIN AN OSCAR FOR HER ELECTRIFYING performance as the legendary Aretha Franklin . GUYS LEASE DONT MISS THIS FOR NOTHING . RUN TO THE THEATRES AND EXPERIENCE THIS NOW !!!!You will leave inspired , excited , and wanting more . Really gave a wonderful tribute to the Queen of Soul .
