I had high hopes for this one, the premise seems interesting, but the writing really lets the production down. For the longest time while watching I couldn't figure out if it was the acting skills that were the problem or the writing; it may be a big of both. Ive seen other reviewers praising the autistic representation, but for the majority it felt as though they grasping at straws, trying to fill check boxes, and anything akin to autistic representation simply felt forced and inauthentic. (I am autistic myself)
overall this series is lacking, overly twee and doesn't bring anything new or different to the table, I feel as though I've seen this exact story a million times before. 'pretty girl is praised for being pretty'. Not a single element of geekiness aside from the odd bit of trivia Harriet comes out with.
