Visually it was good. It was obvious green screen for a lot of scenes. There wasn’t much of a plot. Some of the phrasing used in the clunky dialogue felt like I was watching a B movie similar to Atlas Shrugged. Jon Voight looked to be half asleep during filming. This feels like a movie that was a victim of its director. The studio was right to not fund this mess of a movie. Aubrey Plaza was the only redeeming factor in the movie. This movie was like something in the vein of 1996 Romeo+Juliet with DiCaprio, but much worse quality wise.

I thought this movie was awful. It was like a clip show with no plot or point, just stupid one liners and Ryan reynolds humor that is no longer edgy. Oh and cameos because apparently you can make a crappy movie as long as you include enough cameos. I did like how Disney attempted to make fun of themselves and what a cash grab this “movie” was. It certainly was not a film.

This was a great film. Great writing, great characters, and wonderful cinematography. Not sure how this was a flop in the theaters, besides just being pigeonholed as a western. Costner delivers in Part One. Hopefully Part Three and Four will still be made.
