It's so incredibly devastating yet so utterly beautiful. My absolute favorite book. I read it first at 14 and now two years later I've reread before watching the play in cinemas and I love it even more now. It portrays life in such a realistic way where you know the characters at their absolute lowest but also when life is good to them, although the sad parts are a huge part of the main plot and hence told about more. The book doesn't end in a particularly happy way but it is still satisfying in the sense that Jude doesn't have to suffer anymore. Overall a 10/10 read and it's certainly a book that you have to read at some point in your life.
