The one two punch of episodes four and five are among the greatest combos one can ever land having grown up on them thanks to my friend Brett in third grade who had a very rough way way washed out vhs dubbing - it was so bad that I thought Tatooine was snow covered for a long time. No matter what you think of the prequels and Disney movies, these will always be iconic and continue to have a far too strong hold over my emotions some three decades later…. And a sharply polarizing stance that i grow more confident about as time passes, but just as the jab cross can be made better by following up with a power lead hook to seal the deal…..and that Star Wars lead hook -albeit it’s not ordered third- is Rogue One. The epic space operas are contrasted with the very much all out (in comparison) gritty and unforgiving war film that takes us all the way up to a certain Corellian corvette on a routine diplomatic mission and then back to our childhood memories every time…..
