ottessa is a great writer with plenty novels fit to be called modern classics. i'm convinced she wrote this book as a joke. some form of satire. to say "this is unrealistic and stupid but i bet you there's gonna be (unrealistic! & stupid!) people who're gonna like it/ idealise it." and god, there ARE.
it's written by her, so it's written well. but what's written made me vomit. I fear for every young, gullible, naive kid who's gonna fall under the serious delusion that such a thing can be romantic.
