M3GAN was a veritable treat! When I first explained the premise of the movie (female robot doll goes whacko) to my two young boys (ages 9 and 10), they were reluctant to see it. I kept having to reassure them the PG-13 rating meant it wasn't going to be super-scary. Cool things I really liked about the movie: 1) Your mind had to "fill in the blanks" on the dog's demise (how M3GAN dispatched Dewey). 2) When M3GAN refused to turn off after being commanded to do so. I thought "Damn! Even when your children are born in a lab, they ultimately become disobedient!" 3) When the bully experienced M3GAN's true form - you knew that kid had it coming. On our way home, I explained to my boys M3GAN was an anti-hero - she wasn't inherently bad; she had to become BAD to deal with the cruelty of life. Cons: I didn't recognize any of those songs M3GAN sang, and the dancing was weird.
