I learned so much history in this book and the suffering of the people who fought so hard to live through it. This was a time that we can’t possibly imagine. We are a spoiled and ungrateful nation. I wish I would have taken the time to sit down with my great grandparents and listened to their stories as a child…….so much wisdom came from living through hard times. I just can’t imagine being hungry, living in a tent in a camp with children to feed and no means to take care of them. This was a sad read to me, yet I couldn’t stop. Great work Kristin
