I have been a fan of the Alien Franchise my entire life. Ripley specifically inspired me to become an engineer because I wanted to be part of such an incredible future. I honestly don't understand the negative reviews from critics. This show has depth, horror, sci fi, it is visually stunning and at the same time deeply disturbing. Once you get into the show you realize the worst monsters are human. This fits so well and consistently with the entire franchise. Their plot builds, it grows, the characters are all SO GOOD. The children as robots feels so real and they all are phenomenal. I think the biggest surprise might be how much I love the new alien species they introduced. I need a magic 8 ball Alien eyeball toy stat! Where you shake it and the eyes arrange themselves differently each time. (seriously someone do that) The fact that a sheep was so expressive that we absolutely knew the entire time the alien eye ball was done with their shit was so well done. I've never seen a created character speak so well without words. Hawley and Scott have crafted a really fascinating world and I can't wait to see more. the best part is they didn't rush to a massive finally that left us with nowhere to go with the plot for future seasons. The potential for a long running series is stunning.

This movie made sense. I have combed over and nit picked every movie. I went into this with low expectations and was pleasantly surprised. The director was careful to have reasons for doing things, most especially regarding the age of the actors involved. He didnt build a mystery to the point you didnt know what the hell was going on (im looking at you prometheus.) There were plenty of nods to the franchise, and some great moments of innovation that were not completely implausible for the characters to have. I really want to babble but I don't want to spoil it. Good mix of real effects, cgi was excellent, actors were on point. Special credit to the actor who plays the robot... very well done. I feel like this could be a beautiful start to a new franchise. I am a die hard fan, my house is decorated with aliens, I will watch this again. And again. In the endless loop of the aliens franchise that I go to sleep to almost every night. For the last 20 years.
