Definitely the worst out of all the ones I read so far. The author wants us to feel bad for Ursula by the end and make her feel complex but she wastes SO MUCH TIME ON THE STUPID ODD SISTERS instead of giving Ursula more of a back story. And Circe, who is supposed to be so good at heart, actually caring for Ursula and calling her a Queen AFTER URSULA TRIES TO KILL HER AND THE OCEAN?? Nope not buying it Too much time is spent on characters that are not interesting nor endearing (i.e. Tulip, Circe, the Odd Sisters) instead of Ursula. Now that is an injustice. The world-building is not very good and instead of letting the audience relate and understand Ursula, this book just washes over what could have been a really compelling story.....

It's definitely better than its predecessor, Poor Unfortunate Souls, but I am not going to lie... if I have to read how the "Odd Sisters are scarily beautiful porcelain dolls" I am going to scream! The backstory for the main villain is so much better than what they did for Ursula (who was treated as the side character of her book) but honestly, I did not care for having Snow White, Tulip and Circe get so much screen time..... I wanted to read about MALEFICENT, not about the rest of the odd new characters. They are not interesting enough to merit all their time
