As a long-time fan of the Call of Duty series, I was deeply disappointed by the latest installment, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 (2023). This game fails to innovate or bring anything new to the table, instead relying on tired and recycled gameplay mechanics and a lackluster campaign. One of the biggest issues with Modern Warfare 3 is its lack of originality. The game feels like a rehash of previous titles in the series, offering little in terms of new gameplay or storytelling. The campaign, in particular, feels like a generic military shooter with a predictable plot and forgettable characters.
Additionally, the multiplayer experience in Modern Warfare 3 is underwhelming. The maps are uninspired, and the gameplay feels stale and repetitive. The game lacks the strategic depth and innovation that made previous Call of Duty titles so engaging. Furthermore, the multiplayer is riddled with cheaters abusing exploits that are easily accessible online, all while stating there is an anti cheat system to prevent this from happening. The game seems to focus on voice communication rather than focusing on exploit prevention. Overall, the game feels rushed and unfinished, lacking the polish and attention to detail that fans have come to expect from the series. Fans of the series would be better off revisiting older titles rather than wasting their time and money on this lackluster installment
