After hearing what the album was titled, I was really hoping for a more upbeat delivery. There’s a couple decent songs, but most of it is more mid to low tempo songs without the balls and playfulness of their first 4 records. I don’t know what happened over the last 14 years, but it looks like they are continuing to fully lean into the spacy ballad thing. They do it well at times, but I’d love a little more dynamics on their new records. Maybe someone will actually let them have fun on their next offering?
