Let me start by saying im now a 40 year old dad that got up on a saturday morning at 8am in the 80s just in time to hear that tune and voice of the Transformers cartoon Theme. I also got the first uk editiom release of the Transformers comic book with stickers when i was a kid and then collected the comics alomg with marvel and dc. Not to mention i also got lots of the g1 figures as a kid for birthdays and christmases. Transformer was my number 1 choice as a kid. So thats my background to giving Bumblebee my Review.
Now onto the movie i loved Bumblebee totally loved it from start to finish and i really hope this is how the movie franchise movies goes forward. The movie itself is what i had hoped Bays movies to be more alike. although i enjoyed them there was always a disconnect for me with them which Bumblebee bit that emotional connection did. The movie is set in the 80s which is the era Transformera originally came out and i was a child. The opening sequence on cybertron was brilliant and i was glad that it was just a small segment of the movie just as it was in the original comics to start with. This was a story of bumblebee and human relationship. The movie did not disapoint in establishing the Transformer human bond very well. The CGI for bumblebee was superb you know its cgi bht you believe its an old VW Beetle thats actually transforming. The fight scenes are great especially against the decepticons (bad transformers) This movie has nostalgia a plenty, from the 80s soundtracks, to the design and feel of the transformers as close to the g1 toys as your likely to see, closer to the esrly comic and cartoon storyline, to the way the movie is 80s styled, brilliant job. With shows like Stranger Things doing well with the 80s nostalgia, bumblebee certainly hits the right note without being to in your face. The movie is well paced well scripted that it keeps you engaged. Its just a really great movie to watch. The transformers world is huge so i am looking forward and hope that the movie franchi6se continues on this path. So if you havent seen it please go along and see it.
