I binge watched it 40 minutes after it came out on prime, watched every episode in about 8 hours. The first episode was the only one that caused me some uncertainty, but that uncertainty was quickly dismissed in episode two and every episode after had me more and more hooked.
I actually do enjoy the cuts from the present to the past, they really help the pacing in my opinion.
I don't want to give any spoilers, but the Fred Armisted cameo was amazing and hilarious. That is the only specific thing I'm going to mention.
The series is amazing so far and I hope very much that it continues.
Another note of praise, I appreciate that the episodes are not all the same length. I feel like there can be needless pressure on writers, creators, editors, directors, etc. to wrap up and fix a story based on the episodic time limit with serialized shows. I'm happy they didn't do that here, or didn't seem to, and rather let each episode wrap up when it needed to.
All that being said, I'm sure everyone else leaving reviews will rave about Walton Goggins and all the other obvious points. I just wanted to mention some less obvious points of praise.
I highly recommend this show, whether or not you have played games of the series.
