My biggest issue with this premise is that the moment all the men die, absolutely everything falls apart. So in the entire planet we don’t have enough skilled women to run electricity, gas and water plants, keep manufacturing producing, drive trucks, produce oil, keep communications open? And when one female says to the new female President that the sperm banks are a vital resource she is dismissed out of hand, as if she doesn’t have the intelligence to realise it’s a one generation standpoint. How incredibly insulting and demeaning this scripting is! Of course food production would have to change to plant based once the livestock generation died, and at that point the planet would be depressing with no animal life at all. There’s also the issue of pollination for food crops as all worker bees are male, and that’s a conundrum we may well be facing in reality due to colony collapse syndrome. So there are many hurdles to be overcome, but the biggest one for me is the patriarchal attitude of the writers assuming the females let everything go to hell in a handbasket immediately they lose the guidance of men.
