Dominic Holland has such a brilliant way with words that allow the reader to get absorbed into the world he’s written. ‘The Fruit Bowl’ is a book that you won’t put down and if you do, you’ll be longing to pick back up again. Holland allows the reader to have a range of emotion while he takes you on the journey of tragedy and the protagonist’s recovery. A very relatable book that had me crying in the beginning and also at the end. Holland’s comedic wit is sprinkled throughout this novel (where appropriate) and a few “drop-the-mic” moments occur which leads you to routing for the protagonists even more. This book is definitely one that you won’t regret buying and is worth the time it takes to read.
