What can I say... Just an absolutely epic show that I loved every single minute of. It's one of them shows that if you're binge watching, you simply cannot stop watching, and you reluctantly turn off to go to bed - only to compulsively start again the next day. For me, what makes this show so great is the choice of music. Series 4 of course is almost dedicated to Kate Bush's 'Running up that Hill', as most have become familiar with this year... It just goes to show the power that this show has when it can take a somewhat forgotten or unknown-to-many song, and be able to instantly make it current again. The characters and stories of each series are superb, but for me I think it starts getting really good from season 3. I cannot wait for series 5, it's as simple as that.

So far, excellent I think. Although it's set a lot further back in time than Game of Thrones, it's great how it's still associable and relatable to what happens in GOT, so it feels like I'm just carrying on from where we left off, despite it being a prequel. I think the characters have settled in very quickly too which is hard to do, and the Dragons have not disappointed either. They make this show everything I loved about Game of Thrones. I have no doubts that the rest of the season will only get better and better, and because of this show, I actually look forward to Mondays, who'd have thought?... You must watch Game of Thrones before watching this show however, so if you haven't, you must! Else you won't understand.

We are only 3 episodes in, but I have to say I'm rather underwhelmed. The thing is, I can't quite put my finger on what exactly is making me feel this way. Maybe it's because we're so familiar with the Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit trilogies, and really this has little association to them, and therefore it's a somewhat unfamiliar concept. It may be 'The Lord of the Rings' by name, but it isn't as I know it. When I consider the success of The Hobbit, coupled with the fact this is the biggest budget TV show ever created (apparently), I would be forgiven to expect every single episode to be 'blockbuster' like Game of Thrones was. The difference between this and Game of Thrones is that when an episode of GOT finished, you'd be on the edge of your seat and desperately wishing your life away for the following week's episode. From word go it was the case! But with this, I have the feeling I'm watching it out of obligation rather than excitement, and there's little to suggest this will change. I would like to hope that the reputation of the previous films would set this up for a better remainder of the season, else I don't hold much hope for a second season.
