Watched this movie out of interest. The storyline is guessable from trailer but still to find the missing elements to connect the over all story made me go for it. Obviously any sentimental person can never be bored and will connect with the lead(Jayam Ravi @ Thilgavarman) character; his yearning and pain within, to bond with his daughter and at the same time his choice not to prove his innocence to his daughter is convincing as he has lost those precious moments of seeing his daughter grow and now all of a boom, he expecting her to understand him would have been a cliche if it were what the whole movie intended apart from the revenge plot but thanks to the team. Atleast it was something very natural of moving in the flow but again it was guessable from the last convo between parole Thilagavarman and Inspector Nandhini@Keerthy Suresh that there might be a chance of her being a mediocre to persuade his daughter to reconcile with a longing father. Any person with an open mind who just want to feel the cliched: revenge, father-daughter bonding but casted by different actors can go for it for sure.
Sentiment apart, the one another to notice is the representation of those rationless, thoughtless persons deep rooted with caste have any resonable thoughts. Ahhh ...seriously, wakeup!!! The representation of both professions of an Ambulance driver and a police whose foremost duty is to protect citizens is laudable. In a way, the depiction of Samuthirakani hits us so hard that it shows the undeveloped mindset within each of us that lurks within.
The one another cliched thing for me is that antagonising policemen these days have become usual. The other movie I was remained is "Theerkatharasi" which again released this year has similar plot but with its own ups and downs. Here again police is antagonised.
Plot apart, movies these days vivdly captures and depict the killing pattern of murderers is something I feel eerie and gruesome. The patterns are well explained unlike the backstory of Inspector Nandhini's suspension which is given light significance. But it makes me think maybe because the film focussed much on Thilagavarman's reason to avenge and not on how Nandhini and Thilagavarman joining hands to avenge their common opponents sounds convincing but still... It shows Nandhini as an enduring woman police officer who is duty-bound to her profession and not taking subjective prejudices to avenge and join Varman shows Nandhini's character as a promising police figure unlike Samuthirakani's.
Though the era has so much evolved storylines like this in 2024 reminds that it is not the directors who come up with the cliched themes and plots but that is prevailing and they can't help but to opt it.
So whom to be blamed? Us?! who keep on repeating cliched prevailed believes and norms ? or the film teams that keep on producing movies with slight plot twists that are very guessable these days?
In a whole yeah...you can go for the movie for the emotions portrayed by the lead, and as prior reviews mentioned the comic relation between Yogi Babu and Jayam Ravi is good. Go for it and have your own perspectives irrespective of comments I would say... since everyone has got a choice of their own to watch as I did, and some after trailer and review reading might not opt to watch...so in the end its upto us.
