I love Placebo, and take very little notice of critics, if you like something you like something. This album is solid and one of their best, and my personal favourite. Just sublime, a great album with great songs from start to finish, it rocks. Their most recent album never let me go is wonderful too, give it a listen if you havnt already.

I was 14 when I heard Spellbound on the radio, wow, at 14 I could not believe its energy, it affected me in major ways, from there I became a huge fan, and still am at 55. This album is simply a masterpiece and by far my favourite Banshees album. Every moment, every track is simply sublime.

I personally am getting seriously fed up with the flack Corgan is receiving about current output. I have now heard Atum in its entirety, and I love it. Oh no, what did I say? Y'see, yeah, hell I love Siamese dream and MCIS too, Soma is probably my fave Pumpkins track ever, but people move on, get older, and when folk realise that fact, they actually might move on too. If anyone out there has the talent to write songs like this , go for it. In the meantime, if you hate current output , go listen to something else, and stay in the past, it's that simple. As for the endless moans around songs like Hooray, the pumpkins have numerous ditties in their catalogue, autumn nocturne, we only come out at night, my blue heaven, it seems okay then, but not now? For me Atum is a just another Corgan triumph, the man is a musical genious.
