So, I heard great about this film from my parents. The movie's titular song 'Satyam Shivam Sundaram' sung by the legendary Lata Mangeshkar, composed by Laxmikant Pyarelal and penned by Pandit Narendra Sharma was magnetic to hear. l was astonished at the scene where the leading actress Zeenat Aman, playing Roopa in the story, is being depicted less dressed. I was like how come Raj Kapoor did that? How he showcased her in such seductive manner and also exotically.
Well, I went to Zee5 watched the film. I was even more astonished. So I am a Gen Z you know born in an era when such story don't connect easily. But it was impactful. The environmental music, strong direction, amazing set, amazing performances by the leads Shashi Kapoor and Zeenat Aman, especially.
Special mention to Cinematographer Radhu Karmakar who managed to create a world itself. It felt like it's really happening.
And wow it's production was amazing. I heard Raj Kapoor made films with love.He truly does.
However, I have a complain it's highly misogynistic at times like you feel like it's overdramatised which disengages the viewer.
Apart from this single negative which is overshadowed by all amazing positives. It was a wonderful experience. Watch it please watch it. Celebrating cinema is a exotic feeling watching Satyam Shivam Sundaram gave that feeling.
