Just like the late night shows in the US and the comedy game shows of the UK, Shaun Micallef's Mad As Hell is the best way to dig into the real news of Australia. As news programs around the world have shrank and simply repeat headlines, the satire and parody, though humorous, provide deeper insight and a bellwether to what's really going on and who the players are to watch out for. If you watched all the cable news channels in the US, you wouldn't even hear the names of the folks in Australasia, let alone know what kind of trouble they are up to. There's a lot to be mad about.

It really doesn't matter that ABC can't find a slot for it on the network. Who watches appointment TV anymore? The big deal is that good shows like this get dropped from production. This could continue to run on streamers like Hulu, Disney+, AppleTV, Netflix... What about it not running on the ABC network prevents it from continuing to be available online in that fashion?
